A press conference and protest was held by concerned members of the public on the sidewalk in front of the home of Sharon Keller, Presiding Judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, on Tuesday, October 30 at 6pm.
The press conference and protest was held at Keller's home because many of the attendees work during the day and the Court of Criminal Appeals closes sharply at 5pm. Keller said "We close at 5" and unethically refused to work an extra 20 minutes on Sept 25th in order to accept an appeal by a man set for execution at 6pm that day. The protest was held at Keller's home to increase the chances that she will hear the outraged voices of ordinary people and to make the point that dministering justice is not a 9-5 job.
